Mullen High School is a Lasallian school.          Explaining what this means requires the telling of a story.  It begins with a young priest in 17th century France whose main job is to pray the Divine Office at the local cathedral.  He will not be there for long.  Through an extraordinary chain of events, he will  relinquish both his position and a considerable     patrimony, gather a crew of mostly unimpressive would-be teachers, and revolutionize both Catholic religious orders and formal education in the Western world, all while insisting that none of it really was his idea.  It is an incredible panorama of persons, events, and adventures that spans over 300 years of history.  It is the story of the Christian Schools of   St. John Baptist de La Salle.

Mullen lives within the Lasallian story and the story lives within Mullen.  To tell the story is to help explain what it means when we say that we are a  Lasallian school, that we are Lasallian family, and that we are Mullen.
